Tim Bucks in the Sandbox

During my tour to Afghaniston in 2007, two National Park Wardens had a contest in their parks to see which one could send me the most Tim Bucks to use at the Timmies in KAF. Between them and other friends and family I received almost $600 in Tim Bucks over 7 months. Now everyone would think that I would get to drink lots of Timmies coffee, except not everyone has access to Tim's. The fighting troops spend most of their Time Outside the Wire. Me and my time deployed out to Panjwayi district at the end of Feb and I did not return to KAF until 113 days later at the end of June. So what to do with all these money. Well every couple of the days a few soldiers would return for their leave to go home. I always ensure that my buddies had few Tim Bucks to get a coffee or three once they got in to KAF. When I did finally get in, Tims was one of the first places I went to and even though it was over 50 degrees I sat down and enjoyed a large black just like at home. So to Sean and Jonah, thanks for the Tim Bucks we made sure they were used by the best troops out there.
