In the summer of 2007 my boyfirend and I embarked on a bicycle trip that would take us from Vancouver BC to Montreal QC in just under 2 months. One of the highlights of our trip was meeting amazing Canadiens across the country in our favorite rest-stop of choice, Tim Hortons. Whenever we would roll into a new town we would ask if there was a Tim Hortons nearby. We went into nearly every one we came across. The best part of this experience, apart from the familiar and comforting atmosphere, was meeting people who were all happy to share their stories and give advice about the road ahead. We even met a couple of guys who were cycing in our direction and ended up spending 3 days with them in Saskatchewan. Tim Hortons was sort of our Mecca. We joked all along that we should have been sponsored given the number of times we stopped and had breakfast, lunch and dinner at Tim's. When you are far away from home and tired there's nothing like a familiar place and a warm cup of coffee with some friendly faces on the side.
