Life has changed alot for my husband and myself in the past 2 years - we "reconnected" and enjoy spending our weekends going on "drives" - we never really know where we are going when we leave - grab the dog, her water dish and off we go! Our trips always start with a stop at the local Timmy's (amazingly our dog knows now that when we stop for a coffee she had better get comfortable - and she's a fan of Iced Caps on a hot day). Our best "drive" so far, was a "day trip" that ended with a suprize visit to my parents house on Manitoulin Island (we live in Toronto) - we arrived on the last ferry of the night and suprized them and left on the first ferry of the morning to be back home by dinner - I think they still think we are crazy! The only problem with tripping to "the Island" is that there- is NO TIMMIES ON THE ISLAND - we can't wait to get to the nearest one (Espanola or Wairton - depending on how we leave the island)! Our weekend "drives" are usually around 400 kms in a day and we are always on the lookout for a Timmies so the dog gets a break and we get our caffine fix... we have been fortunate to see much of Ontario in our treks but nothing beats seeing that Timmie's sign when we are cruising about... always a friendly face, a great cup of coffee and many happy hours exploring our great country with my life partner and the dog!!!! Life doesn't get better than that!
