In 7 days I traveled from Kitchener Ontario to Victoria BC with my 3 yr old daughter, my 2 geriatric cats and my pickup crammed as full as I could get it. Why? To be as close to my husband who followed his dream and joined the Navy and was now going through 15 gruelling weeks at basic training. Sure I could have stayed back home in KW for the 15 weeks hed be at Boot camp, but Id have to move eventually, so why not now? We (my daughter, cats & me) left June 1st and it rained every day that we were on the road. But that didnt bother me, I was on my mission! 7 days 9 hours of driving per day We saw so much! We saw hundreds of Inukshucks lining the beautiful highways of Northern Ontario, Moose, Black bears, foxes & deers in every province, the worlds largest Teepee in Alberta, the funniest names like Head-smashed-in Buffalo Jump Alberta, perhaps the smelliest place on earth in Saskatchewan outside of Swift Current, (a huge white mountain of fertilizer!) In Sparwood BC the worlds largest dump truck, and one thing I cant forget the 500 or so bathrooms my daughter had to visit every hour on the hour. We crossed the amazingly flat prairies to enduring the rollercoaster ride also known as Crows Nest Highway that winds its way through the Rocky Mountains. We saw snow in June, ice on a lake way up high in the Rockies. Dust devils in the valleys and finally the most beautiful site of allour new apartment in Victoria! This was the journey of my life. I did it pretty much alone, save for the company of my daughter who slept about 80% of the time and about 15 or more XL 2 cream Tims to keep me going on my way.Im proud of myself for conquering my fear of going it alone, I made it, I still have my sanity! I was able to place my foot print in every province between Ontario & BC, how many people can say that! The best part, Im here and can give my support to my husband. What an amazing journey!I lift my tims in CHEERS to new beginnings and Canadian Road Trips
