Guiding Glow East coast summer trip

My Girlfriend and I made an East Coast Canadian Trip in the summer of '08 and what an amazing trip it was. We left Ottawa early afternoon. Our trip was to drive through Quebec to New Brunswick, Ferry across to Nova Scotia and Ferry again to PEI and take the bridge back to New Brunswick and come home. Our first night we got to Quebec City and found out they were celebrating their 400 year anniversary, people were partying on the streets and having a good time. We decided to stay a night here and then continue the next day. That's when the adventure begins. No hotels vacant anywhere, and I mean anywhere. One hotel said that there was no vacancy until I got into New Brunswick. To make matters worse it was pouring rain and when it stopped raining, fog as thick as pea soup. You couldn't see 2 feet in front of you. Driving along the trans canada highway at about 50km/h passing all kinds of wild life standing on the side of the road. Moose, deer and even one point I think there was a bear. I drove till about 4:30am looking for vacancy and nothing. I saw a glow in the distance but couldn't make out what it said because the fog was still thick and my GPS said there was a hotel close by so I decided to make one last effort and check it out. We pulled into a parking lot and sure enough, NO Vacancy. I parked beside a building in the lot and we decided to sleep in the car for the night. Daylight broke and I woke up a few hours later to an amazing smell. The fog was still thick, I couldn't make out what the sign had read on the building and when I got out of the car it turned out that I had parked right beside a Tim Hortons. Thank you for being my guiding light and having breakfast hot and ready for us that morning :-)

Just to add, this was one of the best trips I've made so far. Previous year I drove out to Vancouver in a big rig with a buddy. Best times ever!!!
