Well it first started down the long and windy beautiful highway as we made our halfway stop to get our Tim Hortons fix. We knew it would be our last stop for the WHOLE weekend! As we sat on the hot sidewalk watching the sunset with our double doubles in our hands. Kids loving their hot chocolate with whip cream, as I took a sip of course. We arrived at dark to a cabin we knew nothing of, thank God my friend Diane has known this place for 37 years! In the middle of fire country at this time of year, Vernon. Thank God it was well away from the smoke and flames.... What a beautiful site as the sun rose and we saw what our beautiful country was really made of! Paradise! The drive, the view, the air, the mountains, the water, it really was stunning. My family is not much for camping because we never do it, what were we missing! We didn't want to leave.... The weekend came and gone and we had to drive into town for our coffee before heading on the highway. We stopped in downtown Vernon where I think it was the ONLY Tim Hortons around. There was no parking, no drive-thru and we saw people walking in and walking out because the line up was out the door. We stood patiently in line..... We had to get our Timmy's.... We also had to wash our delicious peaches in the washroom to enjoy as well.... Another line up! Diane was not too happy with the wait, neither was her dog! All in all it was really worth the wait, there is nothing like the best coffee EVER to end such a wonderful experience. To be honest with you, I would have stood in line for an hour just to get my paws on a double double! ~Dora~
