Vancouver to Parry Sound Bike Tour

views

In July 2009, my friend and I embarked on a bicycle trip from Vancouver to Parry Sound, Ontario in support of Big Brothers / Big Sisters of Kitchener-Waterloo. On our arrival at his cottage on Lake Manitouwabing, we celebrated his 65th birthday with family and friends. Not camping, just going from motel to motel, we relied on restaurant food. Wherever there was a Timmy, we would have breakfast and take a Swiss and ham sandwich along for lunch. As we rode into town, we played a game. Whoever spotted the Timmy first was treated to a coffee. Mostly, I paid. One incident stands out. On the Bow Valley Parkway, a Japanese family asked us to take their picture, and in return they took ours. When we took theres, they said in Japanese, Smile, and told us that they also say, Money. We told them we usually say, Cheese in Canada, and then introduced them to our new word, Timmeeeee. We all laughed, and since then, whenever we take pictures, its Timeeeee. The word is getting around. Our last stop was Nobel, Ontario. Heres a picture on my friends birthday, August 3rd, 2009. Timmeeeeeee
