The Red & White Golden Doughnut

The Red & White Golden Doughnut

On February 12, 2010, I jumped up from bed and started singing the Canadian national anthem at the top of my lungs. I marched back and forth down the hall encouraging my whole household to start singing with me! After singing for 10 minutes straight, I wore my favourite RED pants, and RED Canadian Olympic sweater along with my WHITE shoes and WHITE scarf. We were all covered in RED and WHITE! I was so excited to go to work. On my way there, I had to make a very important pit stop. I stopped by the Tim Hortons beside my work and walked in there with a huge grin on my face as everyone stared. The lady asked me what I would like today and I immediately replied, A dozen Go Canada doughnuts. I knew there were only 6 on the shelf, but I asked for 12 anyways. With a smile on her face, she gave me the 6 that were on the shelf and went in the back and told the baker to make a half a dozen more. I stood on the side and waited, with a huge smile across my face. The next three people asked for the Go Canada doughnuts but she told them there are no more. As I was waiting, the baker came out with a dozen Go Canada doughnuts and held up for everyone to see. Everyone in line only looked at me and all smiled at once. They were so excited and some started chanting Go Canada Go! One lady said, What a way to start the day! My response was, This is only the beginning! As I was leaving, a young man opened the doors for me and said, Cheers! I just turned around to look at everyone inside who was looking at me and said, Go Canada Go! I walked back to my car proud of the fact that I am Canadian. I couldnt wait to get to the office and share our love and support for our country. Nothing felt better than celebrating the best country in the world with the best doughnuts in the world! Everywhere I go, I see the same old question, Do you believe? I dont have to think when I reply, Absolutely!

They did go trick-or-treating. Gabriel felt better Summer put on a brave face. She made it to about 5 heouss, but that was good for her. She came home, bathed, and just crashed. Having sick kiddos on special days is just heart breaking. So, we kept everything as normal as possible and let them decide their limitations for the day (within reason, of course). There are healthy foods I relaly love my problem is that my husband brings home the NON healthy food and he and the kids eat them like crazy - I feel like if I could get the family on board I could do better changing MY eating habits but I have zero will power. I'm thinking of locking up the cabinet with the non healthy stuff. Great article, thanks.
