I love travelling by car with my dad. Together we have travelled all over Canada! It started with road trips around northern ontario for camping and to meet customers while my dad worked selling trucks. Tim hortons was the only constant from city to city and town to town. Eventually though, the ritual became more meaningful. I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2004, and had to travel for doctors and hospitals. After a scary 6 hour surgery my recovery began. Each medical visit was a day long expedition, always beginning with a Tim Hortons coffee. Sometimes we would leave before the sun was up for the drive from Barrie to Toronto, always starting fresh with a large double-double. Over the years since, my health has improved, but I could never have stayed so optimistic over all the poking and scanning without my dad close at my side, and our familiar routine wherever we went.
