as i lived alone in an ontario rural area, my sons in british columbia request\ed that i come to british columbia for the winter months to get out of the snow, and i had planned to stay for only three months,, however when i was here, I was not well and visited the doctor who diagnosted that i had cancer and had to have surgery right away. ......As i was driving into courtenay to get supplies ,and feeling very depressed and lonely for my farm and friends in Ontario, I spotted a Tim Horton;'s , and as it was a familiar spot to me as i would stop and pick up a coffee in my home town every day when o went there/i,,,,,,,As the girl was pouring my coffee, i mentioned to her that wherever one goes in Canada, the coffee is always the same, and one is sure of getting a good one. She asked me where I live, and I told her a small town in Ontario that she would probably not even heard of it. called Meaford. l.......She perked up and said MEAFORD!!!!
and that she was there two weeks ago to attend her husband's graduation at an army camp there, and stayed at a bed and breakfast on the same road that my farm was on near the camp......
She even remembered seeing my property and house and commented on how nice it was....... as a result, my spirits lifted 100 percent and i felt as though i had just met an instant friend ...... here was someone who know just where i lived in Ontario over 3000 miles away. i really enjoyed my wonderful cup of coffee and of course, my dog "Maggie" who always travelled with me,.enjoyed her tidbit as well...... !
