I was spending my third year of university in England on a study abroad; I was there for almost ten months, craving my Tim Hortons double double every step of the way. I had some Canadian money with me left over from my plane ride there and told everyone that the first thing I was going to buy with that money was my Tim Hortons coffee when I landed back in Canada. However it turned out that I was going to get my favourite coffee a bit sooner that I was expecting. On Canada Day some friends and I went to London and came across a very large Canada Day celebration right on Trafalgar Square - and among all the booths and offers of poutines there I spotted a Tim Hortons tent! So not only did I finally get to have my Tims coffee that I had been missing for months, and a sneaky doughnut, but my British friends got the chance to try the coffee that I had been raving about too. It was very comforting to hold that Tims cup when I was so far from home.
