Every Summer, my family heads up to Prince Edward Island, from Massachusetts. My grandparents built a cottage in PEI in the 1970s. When we cross the border in Milltown, Maine, we immediately burst into O, Canada! It is a family tradition that has been upheld for years, and even while traveling up there alone, I find myself singing it. Our second tradition as soon as we cross the border? Our first stop is Tim's. After we wind our way through back streets of St. Stephen (my dad finds back ways to every place known to man), we arrive at Tim's, hungry, and excited. I know there are Tim's in the US now, but for some reason, that first Tim's in Canada still is extra special. We leave the dogs in the car, and with a smile on our faces, get our first of many double doubles and sour cream glazed donuts of the Summer.
