My husband (then boyfriend) is American and until he started to date me, a Canadian, he never knew what Tim Horton’s was or what he was missing. Well, he got hooked, and once he moved to New York he became a huge fan but, even then he says that Canada makes the best coffee! (It must be the water)
On Oct. 15th 2000, we got married in Ontario Canada and we had to stop at Timmy's to get coffee and something to eat before our reception. We also wanted and got a picture of us in my wedding dress and his tux.
10 years later, we now live in North Carolina. Friends and family, when they come to visit they bring us coffee and donuts from Tim Horton’s. For our 10th anniversary I wanted a little piece of home so I found the closest Timmy's which 4 hours away was in West Virginia. We planned our trip and off we went to spend a day at Tim Horton’s for our 10th Anniversary. When we got there, we happened to be the only people in the store. The sights and smells were heaven to both of us! We told the nice people there our story and they were so touched! They even help us take some 10th Anniversary pictures in Tim Horton’s. We had the greatest time and took half the store with us!
On this coming 11th Anniversary (in a couple of days) we are driving to the next closest Timmy's. Its 6 hours away in Norfolk, Virginia. WE LOVE TIMMY'S THAT MUCH!!!! This might be our yearly tradition, seeking out Tim Horton’s in the USA on our Anniversary! (But still not as good as in Canada!)
