That Lovin' Feeling

As two seniors who had lost their partners several years earlier, we both thought it would be nice to have a companion with which to enjoy our “golden years”. Working up our courage, we joined an on-line dating service. Initially, we met a variety of people with whom we didn’t “gel”, then one day we connected with each other on-line. After several e-mails back and forth, we agreed to meet for coffee “somewhere”. My date suggested Tim Horton’s at South Point Shopping Centre in White Rock. Not being someone who often went out for coffee, I was pleasantly surprised at the atmosphere and especially the GOOD coffee. Right away we felt comfortable with each other and we spent two hours chatting, drinking coffee ( and eating donuts!!!) When it was time to leave, we agreed to meet there again the next day. Now, three years later, we still make daily visits to “Timmie’s” for lunch, or afternoon coffee. Timmie’s has become “our place”. For those special occasions, our children give us Tim Horton gift cards, mugs and Christmas decorations. In the busyness of day-to-day life, “Timmie’s” is where we go for that special one-on-one time and we still get “that loving feeling.”
