'Get in the car, I'll give you a ride to school. It is a cold, snowy day' I told the kids, only to realize I had no keys. Both sets were with my husband at work in the next town and i would have to retrieve them by bus. My son provided me with not one but two bus passes as his passes were for students or seniors of which I was neither. The driver graciously let me ride with one pass, hopefully as the student and not the senior!! Arriving at the next town, anticipating my husband at the bus stop, I was not dissappointed. He surprised me with a Timmies from a near by Tim Hortons and said 'quick, run across the street and you will catch that bus home. I did just that. I sat down in the seat closest to the driver holding my Timmies, feeling very loved and cared for. The driver asked how my day was going. I explained that I had come to St. Jacob's to meet my husband for the keys and that there he stood with a cup of coffee for me ...'oh no!!... the keys!!" He had given me my coffee but I had never received the keys!! 'Please, I said, let me off... I never did get the keys!' He kindly stopped the bus and I started back up the hill toward my husband's work. I looked up the hill and there was my husband running towards me with the keys! All we could do was laugh. Somehow tho' it all seemed fine with that warm cup of coffee in my hands - I could handle anything!
