I have been a single parent most of my sons life and when he started to play the all favorite Canadian sport hockey - I needed my Dad's help with the equipment. My Dad came to every practice and game from the time my son started playing hockey at age 5 until today and my son is now 16. It was habbit to stop at Tim Hortons and pick up 2 coffees, one for me and the other for my Dad. On this one particular night, I got to the local arena and walked through the lobby and found my Dad. I handed him his coffee as I always had done. There was a man sitting there who turned and said - "oh isn't that nice, it must have been love at first sight". I looked at my Dad and he also looked at me. We did not know who this man was. I answered the man - "he is my Dad". Then my Dad said, "Yes it was". My Dad was referring to when I was born and that it was love at first sight. I am his first born.. The people that were standing around and knew us, me and my Dad, were all very touched by my Dad's response. I could not ask for a better Dad. I love him very much. I will continue to buy my Dad a Tims coffee before every game.
