We curled 3 10 end games that day and went an extra end in each one, a lot of curling by todays standards. The final game our sheet was tied and the other sheet our co-curlers were down 1. I had the last rock to throw and we needed to count two, we did have 3rd and 4th shot in the house so I had to make a double take out, I called the shot and said to my vice we have a one in one thousand chance of making it but let's go for it. To my surprise we did it and were laying 2 when all was said and done we had won the game and were off to Windsor for the Southern Ontario finals. What a thrill for 8 women from a little club like Brussels. That sticks out in my and we often talk about it when I meet the other ladies.
I still love the game of curling but am unable to curl anymore but love to go to the Brier and all the Ontario curling championships and I watch members of my family curl each week. I am so pleased that Tim Hortons sponsors curling and I certainly enjoy a cup of their cappacino while watching the games. Thanks Tim Hortons keep up the good work.
