On July 5 we headed to P.E.I. for our fun family vacation. My sister Julie and brother in-law James were traveling by motorcycle and we had the family-filled cargo carrying vehicle. On the way to the Caribou ferry terminal to catch the first boat of the morning, our first stop was Tim Hortons at the Pictou rotary because none of us would be fit to be around that early without a hot cup of Timmie’s coffee. We sipped away on that hot brew waiting for the ferry to dock, watching it wind around the tiny islands in the strait, but once we boarded, the warm sunshine and blue sky disappeared and we drove off the boat onto the island into a rain storm. We were not going to let a little rain dampen our spirits so we kept going, arriving in Cavendish around the noon hour. After a tour of a museum filled with oddities and a round of mini-golf in warm drizzling rain we were all smiles as we marched into Tim Hortons dripping and wet and quickly warmed up with another cup of coffee. James ordered an extra-large double-double, saying it was all he needed to push through the sheets of rain that had begun to fall and soon after we all arrived safely at our lighthouse a 20-minute drive away. On the last day of our vacation we drove the 20-minutes out of our way first thing in the morning back to the nearest Tim’s to prepare for the long drive home just as the sun began peeking through the clouds.
You can't always count on the weather but you can depend on Tim Hortons for a fresh cup of coffee whenever you need it.
