Last year while my daughter was participating in PANS (Police Association of Nova Scotia) Tournament in Liverpool, Nova Scotia there was one end that was simply amazing.

The lead's and second's rocks were out of play. The mate's first rock from the opposing team stopped at the front left of the outer circle. Rather than take out the mate's first rock, our mate tucked their first rock in behind. The opposing mate seeing this decided to do the same. Our mate did the same with their second rock. The skips shot their rocks the same. When the end finished, there were eight rocks in a perfect line. Each one tucked in behind the other perfectly.
Some may say, "Why did they do this?" I believe it was simply a challenge to the children and they rose to the occassion. To see the shots that were being made and each of those eight rocks lining up one behind the other was absolutely an amazing sight, considering these amazing shots were being made by 12 year old players.

You should have seen their faces when that end finished. I think they amazed themselves. All of them were smiling and both teams were laughing with one another. It was truly an amazing sight to see all the way around.

Needless to say, watching that end gave me a sense of pride, not only for my daughter, but for all the children playing that day. It demonstrated tact, concentration and determination. Most importantly, it made two opposing teams come together and enjoy something very remarkable for their age group.

At the end of every curling game we stop at Tim Hortons for hot chocolates. This day, the hot chocolates were very rewarding and tasted oh soooo good. It was the perfect end to a perfect day.
