Eight Ender gone wrong

I was a spectator watching play in the OVCA Mixed many years ago. The Macdonald team was way down. Its third hadn't processed her coffee. Then it happened - coffee began to kick in, and slowly the end was building, biters were hanging around, and yes - an eight ender was scored. But alas - the game was lost 11 to 9.
