It was my very first year of curling, I was 10 years old and really nervous on the ice. I saw my mom and dad from behind the glass and my friend, who made me join, watching me anxiously as I stepped on to the step to grab my rock. I grabbed it with both hands and slowly dragged it over to wear I needed to through from. I through my rock and it hit the other teams rock that was sitting in the centre of the ring, I was so excited I actually jumped up off of the ice with my slider on and slid on my feet then bounced my head off the ice. I had tears running down my cheeks that seemed to immediately turn to ice a freeze on my face. I had to leave the game, I felt ashamed and so embarrassed my parents drove me home, but we stopped at Tim Hortons to have supper first, I got my favourite, cream of broccoli soup, it warmed me up and I felt the rush of the creamy taste running down my throat, as I finished the last bite my dad noticed a smile graze across my face, in that moment he said that he knew that he made me forget everything that just happened and for even a minute he knew he made me happy. I have had many amazing curling Tim Hortons stories since then but none of them compare to the way I felt that day.
